Photography Expedition: INDIA – “Kumbh Mela” – May 2016

INDIA – Photography Expedition to the “Kumbh Mela” in May 2016

Maybe you have seen the wonderful documentary “Faith Connections” or you heard about it on a different way …? The “Kumbh Mela” – The biggest religious gathering on earth

A so called “Purna Kumbh Mela” is held in turns at fur different locations in India:Reisefotografie, Fotoreise Indien, Thorge Berger, Kumbh Mela, Grenzgang-Fotograf des Jahres 2013

The next “Kumbh Mela” then will be held in Ujjain in 12 years and the next “Purna Kumbh Mela” will be in 2022 in Allahabad!

Such an event attracts Millions of Hindu believers and thousands of their spiritual leaders (Sadhus), to take a bath in one of the sacred rivers. It is an extraordinary event with impressive photographic opportunities!

And you can be part of it!
From May 12. – 23. I will lead a photo expedition in India, which also leads to Ujjain where the “Kumbh Mela” will happen this year. A “Kumbh Mela” is a very impressive event. But it can also be daunting at first and you might be happy to be there with experienced photo guides 😉

As usual in my photo expeditions I ensure we travel in small groups so everybody can get what he/she wants. In India we collaborate with very experienced partners and photo guides whom I personally appreciate from several experiences during former Kumbh Melas.
