Photo from Inle Lake in Myanmar is cover of new GRENZGANG Magazine

In a few days the new GRENZGANG program will be published. GRENZGANG is well-known as host for many cultural events in North Rhine Westfalia, Germany. The new program will be printed in Magazine style and mailed out to 22.000 clients.  (total circulation is 35.000). On the title of the magazine, you´ll find one of my photos from Inle Lake in Myanmar. I feel honored, and I am very happy about it! 🙂

The photo was shot during my last photography expedition to Myanmar in December 2015 when we accopanied some of the legendary one-leg-rowers (fishermen) at sunrise and sunset. We had agreed on a photo session with three of the fishermen, so we had time to experiment a little, and the fishermen would get paid for their effort. For this picture, I wanted to use a composition technique called “framing” which means you create an ‘additional frame’ in the picture around the main subject. For this purpose, I took the photo with a wide angle lens through the bow net against the sun. My idea was that the fisherman himself would only look like a silhouette, and the sun with its´ beams would make another point of interest. Many beautiful pictures were shot during these days, and luckily the fishermen had a good time, too. A nice ‘win-win’ event which we all like to remember, and which eventually became again a highlight, by making it as a cover with GRENZGANG magazine!

You can download the entire GRENZGANG magazine here …

Also new: the website of GRENZGANG

GRENZGANG not only boasts a recent magazine for their new program but sports a new website, too! I personally think they did a great job, and that it´s worthwhile to take a look. And of course in the new program you will find many interesting events – all themed around travel! So don’t waste time and check it out here …

LIVE presentation on KUMBH MELA

At least one event I’d like to emphasize again here:
My first LIVE presentation on February 19th 2017 on the Indian “Kumbh Mela” Festival!

New photo workshops for GRENZGANG

Furthermore, in the coming year (2017) I will again conduct two travel photo workshops for GRENZGANG.
More details on this in a later blog post.
